For every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
How much Joy does it give you when you give to others? Whether it is clothing, food, shelter, or even money. I make it a point to clean out my closet every 6 months and either give to the Salvation Army, Goodwill, or to a person that can put them to good use. I don’t expect anything in return and it gives me joy and satisfaction that I can bless others that have a need. This alone works in so many ways. You have a clean closet, your providing for another person in need, you bring relief and happiness to that person and see them happy and grateful.
To give freely to another person is what the Lord asks of us. Do this with love and not feeling pressured to give or to want to be acknowledged for what you have done. When I see happiness in another persons smile and voice I feel full. If I see a person struggling with an issue or a burden I actively listen, wait to speak, ask them if I may share something with them that I had experienced and what I did to get through the matter. Not that I am fixing the burden or situation but giving some light to be shone upon it. Prayer makes a difference in any situation a person is facing. I ask at the end of the conversation if I may pray for them and if they accept then I do.
Giving can come in many forms and I choose to do all the above whenever I can. Think about this, what can you do today that would bring joy and a smile to another person, whether you know them or not? Even a simple compliment or holding the door open for another person that may be needing help. Instill hope and faith into them and the domino effect begins. Blessings are poured upon one another and joy is present.

I am the Word of Life, eternal life. I have always existed, I am that which was from the beginning. Moreover, I am divine. As the apostle, John wrote, “The Word was God.” This divine Word brings Life to all who believe in Me. From the beginning of creation, words have been associated with life. Originally, the earth was formless, empty, and dark. Then I said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. I spoke everything into existence, including all the plants and animals. Finally, I spoke mankind into being. The Life I offer you is eternal. It begins when you trust Me as your only Savior but it never ends. You can enjoy immense freedom through knowing there is no condemnation for you. I have forever set you free from the law of sin and death! The best response to this glorious gift is grateful Joy delighting in the One who loves you perfectly and eternally. Remember that I am always near you, closer than the air you breathe.
