It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
Strongholds, we all have them in our life one way or another. If we are not careful and we give in to temptation on a habitual basis – a stronghold can form in our hearts (take captive) and of our minds. In which we are easily tempted to go astray, which takes away precious time with God. He should be first in everything you do daily. Reoccurring destructive habits that ultimately lead to our demise are strongholds. Spiritual warfare’s main playing field is the mind, thoughts, and imaginations.
How does this start? It can start from an addiction to a video game, gambling, drinking, pornography, or spending too much time on one thing that really has no value in life to give you joy, and so many more to list. This powerful influence is like Satan, it steals, kills and destroys. The stronghold holds you captive and lies to you. Telling you it’s okay to be where you are at and not to listen to what God’s commands are.
“ For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.“ 2 Corinthians 10:3-4
Each morning you awake you will face a spiritual battle. You cannot win alone against the enemy. We have no clue what the tactics are of the enemy. But if we go against him with God’s divine power – we will successfully destroy these. Many strongholds come from arguments and opinions that are raised in our thoughts against God and his ways.
Jesus said all power and authority is His, so if you’re in Christ – guess what – you’re on the winning side. Many believers are not walking in the power and authority that Christ died to give them.
Let the revelation of His victory permeate your faith and cause you to operate from a winning stance. Let your life be faith-filled and live like you believe the words you read in your Bible. It’s not about memorization, it’s about revelation and transformation. Be ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 5-6
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
Where has the enemy taken ground in your life and created a stronghold? After we have obeyed the Lord and fought the enemies arguments and opinions, we are expected to take these steps of obedience and push out all of the darkness. When this happens you will find rejoicing in households, to sit and eat in peace, and see blessings in all you undertake. Pray and seek God’s face. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide and direct your prayers.
Use your words to declare, decree and establish the authority of God’s word in your life over negative spiritual influences. This means those negative thoughts, feelings of jealousy, envy or revenge. You need to reject them and insert God’s say on the matter instead. Don’t do this alone, stand strong in the Lord and He will fight the battle for you. Walk in the spirit and not in your own natural ability. The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.
YOU ARE FEELING WEIGHED DOWN by yesterday’s failures. You wish you could undo decisions you made that you now regret. However, the past is beyond the realm of change and cannot be undone. Even I, though I live in timelessness, respect the boundaries of time that exist in your world. So don’t waste your energy bemoaning bad choices you have made. Instead, ask Me to forgive your sins and help you learn from your mistakes. I hate to see My children weighed down by past failures, dragging them around like heavy chains attached to their legs. When your feeling this way, try to imagine Me cutting the chains from your legs. I came to set My loved ones free. You are free indeed! Rejoice that I redeem your failures forgiving you and leading you along paths of newness. Talk to Me about your mistakes and be ready to learn from Me. Ask Me to show you the changes I want you to make. I will guide you along right paths.
