To be blessed with children in your life is a blessing and a gift from God. I thank God often for our Son and Daughter. Be thankful for all the blessings he sends you and grateful that he chose you for this role as a parent. My first love in my life is always God.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
God will always be the first parent to our adult kids. I pray daily asking that he protects them and keeps them safe from harm. I make it a point to always lay out the prayer requests for my loved ones and to thank him for all answered prayers.
Both of our kids were raised with good morals, beliefs and to treat others with respect and kindness. It just became a part of their lives growing up as it did for me and my husband.
Don’t give false hope to them when growing up. Let them know they will face many trials and tribulations in their life. If they make it a point to keep the Lord in their lives and study his word they will be okay. Patience and Grace is so hard for us, but if we continue to do that we will be blessed and successful in life when we pursue our dreams.
Many times I reflect on all that he has given me in this life, and I can say that the most precious gifts have been our beautiful kids. Parenting is hard and there is no manual to teach you the right things to say and do when raising them. But, what you can do is love them unconditionally and be patient during hard times. Teach them all that you can about our Creator and his Son, Jesus Christ.
Even now at 51, I still keep the 10 commandments in my life and respect and honor them and the Lord. Daily prayers are said for our adult kids and seek the Lord to help them in troubling times.
I am proud to have such a loving and caring Father in my life.
