Be Still In His Presence

Surrender…What is that to you? It’s not giving up or walking away, it is giving “God” the “Power” and “Control” over you and your situation. God is the only One that will take an ugly situation and make it work for the good. Only if you call on Him and ask that He take over and deal with the ugliness. “If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for me, you will find true life” (Matt. 16:25).

Peace, do we have much of that these days? Nope! But it is up to us to avoid toxic situations and people that can bring drama and a drain our mental and physical well-being, aka..an emotional vampire. When you make it a point to let go of things that are of little interest to you and you yourself know that if you become involved in something that does not directly involve you it’s best to step aside and let it work out on its own.

Trust God in everything you do before you even decide to do it. Making sure the decision is right and honorable in God’s sight. Make more time to talk to God and keep a journal if need be. Write out your feelings if you’re not up to divulging your challenges with a friend or stranger or a professional, then sit down alone and talk it out with God.  If the Peace has not come to you yet and you’ve been praying do it again but this time with the surroundings quiet and no distractions. Be specific as to what it is you need from God and what it is you are working on or struggling with.

Surrender is the key to a blessed life. It is the only way to walk in perfect peace.

~ God blesses your surrender:  Surrender is the key to a blessed life. It is the only way to walk in perfect peace.  God of peace says we can crush Satan under our feet.  Romans 16:20 “This absolute surrender to God brings wonderful blessings.”

~ God expects your complete surrender:  All of the creation is surrendered. The sun, the moon, stars, flowers, trees–all is surrendered to God. Give up control of our lives and ask Him to take over and weed out the toxic things, habits, and people we have in our life that is not good to us.

~ God accomplishes: Surrender does not work apart from grace. God does not ask you to give the perfect surrender in your strength, or by the power of your will; God is willing to work it in you. It is God that works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.  Philippians 2:13

~ God accepts surrender:  Surrender is a pleasing act of faith to God Hebrews 11:6  There is a God present who at that very moment takes possession of you. You may not feel it, you may not realize it, but God takes possession if you will trust Him.” The Father receives you with open arms and an open heart.  We come to Him just as we are, and He accepts us and loves us through whatever we are facing.

~ God maintains your surrender:  Surrender is never our burden to carry alone.  When God has begun the work of absolute surrender in you, and when God has accepted your surrender, then God holds Himself bound to care for it and to keep it.” Just remember the Lord is the author and finisher of your surrender. Jesus clarifies it this way, “Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls” Matthew 11:29

You will be a happier person all around if you just let go and read verses that will empower and encourage you to be strong in the word. God wants you to be at Peace in life but to also have good tools to cope and use for protecting your mind and soul.
